How can we help?
Getting started
No. Collaborators get a link by text, WhatsApp or email, check their share and sign on their phone. They only make an account if they want to be paid through TrackLedger or see their statements.
Tap New sheet, give the track a title, add everyone who worked on it with their role, then set song and recording shares. When both add up to 100% you can send it round for signing. Most people finish in under three minutes.
Yes. Add them by phone number or email and they'll get their signing link wherever they are. The sheet stays open until everyone has signed, and you can nudge anyone who hasn't with one tap.
Split sheets, signing and credits pages are free on every plan. On Solo we take 2% of payouts we send for you. Band is £8 a month with no payout fee, and Label plans are priced around your catalogue.
Anyone can create and sign split sheets from anywhere. Payouts currently reach more than 30 currencies by bank transfer and card, plus mobile money in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
Splits & signing
The song share covers the composition, meaning melody, lyrics and music, and pays writers. The recording share covers this particular master and pays its owners and performers. TrackLedger keeps them separate so each can add up to 100% on its own.
Each signature is recorded with the signer's name, phone or email, time and the exact version of the sheet they agreed to. That makes for a strong record of what was agreed, but whether it's binding depends on where you are and what you signed, so ask a lawyer if you're unsure.
On Band and Label plans, their share waits in the holding pen while everyone who has signed gets paid as normal. When the last person signs, the held money is released with the next payout on the 1st.
Yes. Propose a new version, and everyone named on the sheet signs again. The old version is kept in the history, and the new shares apply from the next payout after the last signature.
Only if you're set up as their manager or representative and they've approved that in their account. Otherwise each person signs for themselves from their own link.
Payouts & tax
On the 1st of every month. TrackLedger collects what's come in from your distributor and societies, works out each person's share and sends it. Bank transfers usually land within one to three working days, and mobile money is often the same day.
Your own. Choose from more than 30 currencies when you add your payout details, and your statement shows the original amount, the rate we used and what you received.
Payouts below the equivalent of £5 roll over to the next month so fees don't eat into small amounts. You can see the running balance in your statements at any time.
No. We give you clear monthly and yearly statements to share with your accountant, and collect tax forms where a distributor or society requires them, but declaring and paying tax is up to you.
Usually it's timing. Societies and distributors report months after a stream or broadcast, so this month's payout reflects older plays. Your statement breaks down every source and period so you can see exactly where each amount came from.
Labels & catalogues
Yes. Upload a spreadsheet or a distributor export and TrackLedger matches tracks, contributors and recording codes, then flags anything missing. Band covers up to 500 tracks and Label plans have no limit.
On Label plans you can set approval rules, for example a fixed label share on every master, or requiring a sign-off from your team before a sheet goes out to collaborators.
On Band and Label plans, TrackLedger sends registrations to the relevant societies and delivers credits to your distributor once a sheet is fully signed. You can track each registration from the track page.
Yes. Invite teammates with view, edit or finance access. Only people with finance access can change payout details or approve releases from the holding pen.
